Well done!

You performed your extract from Tempest  brilliantly!  From Prospero and  Ariel to my photographers, you all did your very best and I am proud of you all.  You spoke clearly, with expression and used your bodies and facial expressions to show how the characters might act and feel effectively too.   Using pauses, you were able to deliver the lines in time as a group which was impressive, well done! Here are a few photos taken from our work this week and one from the final performance.  If I am able to get a video clip I will of course add this too, so you can share it at home.

It was also a busy week with TLCs.  I enjoyed sharing your work with your parents and carers.  It was lovely to see how proud you are of the work you have completed in class.

When we return to school, we will be starting our topic on the Romans which I am really looking forward to.  We will of course be doing lots of research in school but if you are in the library over the holidays, why not have a look to see what information you can find on this topic.

Please remember that Tuesday 21st February will be our first visit to the swimming pool.  This session is to allow the swimming teachers to assess everyone’s ability, so you may not have much time in the pool, but it is important to make sure everyone is safe and able to learn in the following weeks.  On swimming days (every Tuesday) you will need a swimsuit or trunks (no loose fitting ones), a towel and swimming hat.

I hope you have a fantastic week off and enjoy doing things you love with your friends and family.  Your key skills is to recount what you have done in a format you would like to use, which could be by talking about it, writing descriptive sentences or drawing a sketch or diagram.  Please do remember to do some practicing the times tables you are working on, by the end of year 3 our aim is for you all to know your 3, 4 and 8 times tables (and related divisions) as well as the 2, 5, and 10.  We have been working on using different methods for multiplication and division, maybe you could show them to a friend or family member.

Have an excellent week off, laugh, have fun and rest, you deserve it!
